Held at the elegant Country Club of Orlando, the event included authentic Irish tea fare and entertainment in honor of the Emerald Isle. Dressed in his Gordon tartan kilts, bagpiper David Enzfelder set the tone for an afternoon that included a rousing performance by fiddler Lori Jean Smith, energetic step dancers with the Irish Dance Company, and piano music beautifully played by Judy Galligan.
A highlight of the tea included the presentation of several awards by Chairman Maria Rogner.
Our fifth annual Celebrity Tea and Signature Silent Auction featured great entertainment, food and awards, along with a surprise announcement by Mayor Buddy Dyer, the tea's 2018 Celebrity Pourer. He proclaimed February 3, the day of the Tea, as Barbara Bergstrom Day in the city of Orlando in honor of our late founder and president.
The signature silent auction featured nearly 100 items, with happy bidders leaving gift baskets, jewelry, household items, accessories, collectibles and other amazing items ranging from a week's stay at a beachside vacation home and a wine tasting for 20 from Total Wines & More to valuable Irish crystal and signed sports memorabilia, including a basketball from legend Shaquille O'Neal.
Special thanks to our generous sponsors and donors, with an extra special appreciation to photographer Brion Price for documenting this special occasion, to Terry Cravey and The Printers for graciously donating the invitations and programs, and to the Civitan Pioneers for their invaluable support with our registration and auction.
